The Lotus Silkus Suture 1-0 – WN215 Pack of 12 is a medical-grade, braided non-absorbable suture material designed for wound closure and tissue approximation in various surgical procedures. This suture is suitable for general surgery requiring long-term support, plastic surgery for delicate tissue closures, ophthalmic procedures due to its smooth handling, and cardiovascular surgery where a non-absorbable material is essential. Composed of silk, the Lotus Silkus Suture 1-0 provides long-term wound support and exhibits a braided structure that imparts strength and flexibility. This design ensures even tension distribution along the suture line, minimizing the risk of cutting through delicate tissues. The suture is coated with silicon, which facilitates easy passage through tissue, limits absorption, and enhances ductility. While classified as non-absorbable, Silkus sutures gradually lose most of their tensile strength within one year and are completely absorbed in two years, functioning as a very slow absorbing suture. Manufactured under stringent quality standards, Lotus Surgicals products comply with CE 1293, ISO 9001:2015, and EN ISO 13485:2016. The manufacturing environment meets the Class 10,000 cleanliness standard of US FED 209E, equivalent to ISO Class 7. The suture is sterilized using 100% Ethylene Oxide and is intended for single use only.
