The Volk G-1 Gonio Lens – With Flange (VG1) is engineered for detailed visualization of the trabecular meshwork and surrounding anterior chamber structures, supporting comprehensive examination and precise treatment planning. This lens is an excellent choice for routine gonioscopy and laser trabeculoplasty, specifically for Argon laser trabeculoplasty (ALT) procedures. Crafted with an all-glass design, this lens offers superior clarity and long-lasting durability, providing highly magnified views essential for discerning subtle anatomical features and pathological changes with exceptional precision. The ‘With Flange’ design, featuring a 15 mm contact diameter, provides enhanced stability on the cornea, which is recommended for laser procedures and requires the use of a coupling fluid. The G-1 Gonio Lens features a 62° mirror angle and a 1.50x image magnification, enabling optimal visualization. It also boasts a 0.67x laser spot size magnification, which optimizes laser energy delivery during trabeculoplasty procedures. The lens requires rotation to visualize all quadrants of the angle, allowing for comprehensive assessment. It is important to note that the G-1 Gonio Lens is not recommended for selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) due to its lack of total internal reflection and incompatibility with 532nm Nd:YAG lasers.
