The 3M™ Tegaderm™ Film Dressing – With Border 15cm x 20cm Pack of 10 (1628) is a sterile, vapour permeable transparent film dressing designed for comprehensive wound and catheter site management. It features a thin film backing with a non-latex, hypoallergenic adhesive, making it gentle on the skin. The dressing’s breathable film allows oxygen in and moisture vapor out, supporting normal skin function while providing a waterproof, sterile barrier against external contaminants such as liquids, bacteria, and viruses. In vitro testing confirms that the transparent film acts as a viral barrier for viruses 27 nm in diameter or larger, provided the dressing remains intact without leakage. This transparent film dressing is suitable for covering and protecting various wound types and catheter sites, maintaining a moist environment conducive to wound healing. Its design allows for continuous visibility of the underlying site, which can aid in monitoring without the need for frequent dressing removal.
