Description

Shofu Hy-Bond CX Luting GIC is a glass ionomer luting cement designed for the permanent cementation of various dental restorations. This material is suitable for cementing metal, ceramic, and metal-ceramic crowns and bridges, as well as inlays, onlays, and orthodontic bands. Its formulation is biocompatible and releases fluoride, contributing to ongoing caries protection at the restoration margins and ensuring pulpal safety.

This luting cement is resin-free, making it suitable for patients with resin allergies. It offers a self-adhesive application, eliminating the need for etching or bonding steps for a quick and simple procedure. Shofu Hy-Bond CX Luting GIC exhibits optimal thixotropicity and a uniform film thickness, ensuring a precise fit and excellent marginal seal.

The cement is prepared by hand mixing powder and liquid with a plastic spatula within 30 seconds. It provides a working time of 2 minutes from the start of mixing at 23 °C, allowing for precise seating of restorations. The setting time is approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds after seating the restoration in the patient’s mouth at 37 °C. This material is radiopaque, facilitating easy detection on X-rays, and demonstrates high acid resistance and low oral solubility for long-term stability.
